"Business of the Month"

Criteria:  Each month the Rusk Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meet and using the following criteria vote for a business of the month.  Please note that a business can only be nominated if they have been in good standings for the last 2 years.

Nomination & approval by Directors for Business of the Month
At each monthly meeting the president of the Chamber requests that the board pull from their packets the voting form with the month's nominations.  She/He reads the nominations with an optional write in choice.  Discussion follows.  Following review and discussion the members fill out their ballot and all the ballots are turned in to be counted.  Two members from the board are picked at random to count the votes and passes the tabulation back to the president to announce the winner for that month.  The office manager of the chamber notifies the winner to set up a time and date for presentation.  Executive Director of the chamber contacts the “Business of the Month” prior to the presentation to obtain pertinent information about the establishment; and notification is sent  by email to all the chamber members so that they can plan to attend this honor.  At the end of the year, the board votes and picks from the 12 businesses a  "Business of the Year", "Business Woman and Business Man of the Year".  These awards are presented at the chamber banquet.
